Research & Development
With Research and Development (R&D), Eva Azevedo develops research work in the area of Culture on the West Coast of Africa, primarily in Dance, through partnerships with external entities (public and private).
Sustained by a contemporary vision, it aims to rediscover dance as a means of expression and contact between Brazil, Portugal and Benin, centered on the intersection of their histories, cultures and people.
started this research with the project “Farisogo Sira – O Caminho do Corpo na Dança Africana”, supported by GDA - Gestão dos Direitos dos Artistas - and, with the project “Olokum”, supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Europe, Brazil and Africa (Burkina Faso and Benin).
These researches led her to a PhD in dance, at the Faculty of Human Motricity of the University of Lisbon, corresponding to the research entitled: “The dancing body in Vodum dances in Benin, in ceremonies and laboratories for training and artistic creation”, where carried out several research field works and artistic creation.
She has already edited the article "Guillaume Niedjo’s creative process in the artistic creation“ Affôtè ”” edited and published, in 2021, in the 3rd Interdisciplinary and Virtual conference on Arts in Education- CIVAE. She participated as a speaker with this article in:
